2021 CUNE Rioja Crianza Tinto

The 2021 Cune Crianza is a classical blend of Tempranillo with 15% Garnacha and Mazuelo from Rioja Alta that fermented in 20,000-liter stainless steel vats and matured in used American and a small portion of French oak barrels for 12 months.The winery’s official name is CVNE (an acronym for Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España). Back in the day, a printer made a simple mistake and swapped the V for a U on the labels.Instead of fixing it, the founders decided they liked the sound of "Coo-nay" better than the mouthful of the original name, and the "mistake" stuck for over 140 years. Try this wine with a plate of jamon and manchego cheese, a burger, or a mushroom dish.
