2022 Recaredo 'Miranius' Blanco

The name Miranius is a nod (in Catalan) to the foxes that roam the vineyards looking to snack on sweet grapes. The wine is made from 100% Xarel-lo, a grape traditionally used for Cava (Spanish sparkling wine), but increasingly being made into complex and fascinating still whites. Miranius displays the brisk, agile side of Xarel·lo, a variety whose relatively neutral fruit character allows for a powerful articulation of minerality, texture, and nutty character. Xarel·lo’s naturally high acidity brings balance in this warm Mediterranean climate, and indeed this wine is bright, saline, and immensely refreshing.
