2024 Funaro 'Pinzeri' Terre Siciliane Bianco

Italy has the most indigenous grape varieties of anywhere on earth, many of which are strange and obscure to wine lovers outside their native areas. Grillo is one such wine grape! While most American wine lovers may not be familiar with it, it is Sicily's most planted white grape. For centuries, the Funaro family has farmed two hillsides of olives and grapes 2 hours south of Palermo, Sicily where everything is certified organic and vinified very simply resulting in wines that have a remarkable purity. The Pinzeri is vividly aromatic with notes of orange blossoms and sea spray. On the palate it's fresh and vibrant with citrus, saline, and salted almond notes.
